(Luton, UK –3 December 2014) - The Monarch Group,the leading independent travel group, welcomes the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s announcement in his Autumn Statement today that Air Passenger Duty (APD) will be scrapped on air fares for children under the age of 12 from 1 May 2015 and for children under 16 from 2016.
The Monarch Foundation is adding two new charities to its partnership with Pennies, the electronic charity box which raises funds for its chosen charities. Blind Veterans and Just a Drop join the other four Foundation charities supported through Pennies.
